Flying legally in 3 steps
Like any model aircraft over 250 g, your helicopter needs a registered operator and insurance. It's quick, and we'll walk you through it.
1 · Register
Register once online with the aviation authority of the country you live in. Your registration also covers flying in the other EU countries and Switzerland. You get an operator number for all your models.
2 · Insure
Required in Germany and most of Europe. Easiest: join a model-flying club or association; membership includes insurance and gives you a field to fly at.
3 · Fly
Fly at a club field under your association's rules, or pass the free EU online test (A1/A3) with your authority. Then put your operator number on the model.
