Mike Binder, a German engineer, founded Roban Model to create scale RC helicopters that require no special skills beyond knowing how to fly, with a clear focus on engineering quality, scale accuracy, and reliable flight performance.
Manufacturing was established in China in 2009 to ensure direct factory ownership and full control over development and production, rather than relying on external suppliers. This long-term presence is reinforced by strong personal and cultural ties, as half of the founder’s family is Chinese, enabling close integration with the local workforce and business environment.
Today, Roban Model operates with a team of approximately 50 skilled employees, covering machining, composites, painting, assembly, and quality control. In a mass-production-oriented industrial landscape, the company remains a specialized manufacturer focused on precision and consistency rather than volume.
